What does machinery and equipment noise testing involve?
The determination of the sound power level of a noise source is carried out in accordance with the PN-EN ISO 3746 standard. The total acoustic power emitted by a source can be determined by enclosing the sound source with a measurement surface and summing the acoustic power flow through that surface. The sound power of a source emitting noise into the environment is its unique characteristic property, independent of the surrounding environment.
Determining the sound power level allows for the comparison of acoustic performance between equipment supplied by different manufacturers.
